About the studio

We've spent a decade removing friction that other people shipped.

Interface Atelier was founded in 2016 by three designers tired of decks that never became products. We work in small senior pairs, embedded with your engineers, from the first interview to the second post-launch tuning cycle.

Philosophy

The interface is a promise about how much a product respects your attention. A confident layout tells you where to look; an honest control tells you what will happen before you commit. When those promises hold, people stop noticing the software and start noticing their own progress.

That is the whole job: make the obvious path the correct one, and make the irreversible path deliberate. We would rather delete a feature than decorate a confusing one.

Standards we hold

Evidence before opinion

Every recommendation traces back to a session recording, a funnel drop, or a support ticket. Taste settles ties; it doesn't start arguments.

Systems, not screens

We deliver tokens, components and rules. A year later your team should still be able to add a page that looks like it belongs.

Fewer, better states

Empty, loading, error, partial, offline. Most products ship one of five. We design all of them before we polish anything.

Accessible by default

WCAG 2.2 AA contrast, 44px targets, keyboard paths and screen-reader order are acceptance criteria — not a later pass.

How we engage

  • Diagnostic — 2 weeks. Heuristic audit, six user sessions, analytics review, and a prioritised friction list with effort estimates.
  • Design sprint — 6 to 10 weeks. Architecture, prototypes, visual system, and validated flows for the surfaces that matter most.
  • Embedded partner — monthly. A senior pair inside your sprint cadence, maintaining the system and reviewing every build.
